EP 23 - RIO FUNK

Techtrônica presents Rio de Janeiro funk as a style of electronic music that originated in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro and quickly spread throughout Brazil, tracing its roots from dance parties to its most current variations. The card features Deyse Tigrona, one of the oldest women to represent Rio de Janeiro funk and who continues to produce music to this day.

EP 21 - AFRO ELECTRONIC

Techtrônica presents Afro-electronic genres such as Afro House, Afro Tech, Afrobeat, and Kuduro, styles that blend references and elements present in the musicality of Black cultures with electronic beats. On the card: the trans artist TITICA, an icon of Angolan Kuduro.

Episode 20 - Interview with Ana Lira

In this episode, Techtrônica interviews photographer, visual artist, curator, and researcher Ana Lira, creator of the Chama project @chamanoar, whose objective is to investigate the varied forms of expression through the diaspora, focusing on the encounter between poetry and music, that is, between sound systems, DJs, and the festivities produced around the field of the senses. Today's Techtronica features one of the most relaxed styles of electronic music, Chillout, which draws inspiration from sounds like trip hop, ambient music, lounge, classical music, nu-jazz, and downtempo. Techtronica embraces the TECNOBREGA vibe, a style that fuels sound system parties, a true fusion between electronic music and traditional rhythms from the state of Pará. On the card: Gang do Eletro. A band that took tecnobrega beyond Brazil.

Techtrônica celebrates Bregafunk, an electronic rhythm originally from Recife that has been conquering Brazil. On the card: MC Loma and the Lacração Twins. A phenomenon of the genre.

Techtrônica welcomes Dandarona, DJ and multi-artist, to talk a little about his professional journey, the challenges of working in the city's electronic music scene, and to bring a special musical selection to the listeners of Frei Caneca - FM radio.

EP 12 - TRAP

In this program, Techtrônica celebrates the beats of TRAP, a musical style that uses rhymes and bass frequencies to deliver highly expressive and stimulating messages. In addition to revisiting original musical references from the genre, today's Techtrônica also features names from the national and local scene who are representatives of Trap. On the card is beatmaker Wondagurl, responsible for producing hits for Drake, Mariah Carey, Childish Gambino, Rihanna, among others.

The Techtrônica program revisits the theme of electronic music in the 1980s, recalling the emergence of new musical styles, aesthetics, and references, ranging from experimentation with electronic elements in Brazilian music to the rise of breakbeat, a genre that serves as the rhythmic basis for various street dances. EP 01 - PIONEERING WOMEN IN ELECTRONIC MUSIC

From musique concrète to the art of sound design, and electronic music for theater and television, the program traces the history of electronic music, highlighting the important role of women in the development of techniques and technologies that contributed to the evolution and consolidation of this musical genre. In the image, Suzanne Ciani, alongside her Buchla synthesizer. Composer, pianist, sound designer, and executive of her own sound design company, responsible for creating iconic sounds and still active today.
