TECHTRONICS IN THE AIR
The Techtrônica program is a production by MaddaM Music for Frei Caneca FM, Recife's public radio station.
Live broadcast every Saturday at 9pm on 101.5hz FM, on the Frei Caneca Official Website and also on the Frei Caneca FM 101.5Hz app.

The first season of the program was supported by the Recife City Culture Foundation.
The program continues in its second season 2022.
The editorial content is the result of research work carried out by the MaddaM team, made up of journalists, DJs, cultural producers, researchers and visual artists.
The program covers topics related to technology, electronic music and club culture in an informative and relaxed manner.

EP 01 - PIONEER WOMEN IN ELECTRONIC MUSIC
From concrete music, through the art of sound design, to electronic music for theater and television, the program traces the history of electronic music, highlighting the important participation of women in the development of techniques and technologies that contributed to the evolution and consolidation of this musical genre.
On the card, Suzanne Ciani, next to her Buchla synthesizer.
Composer, pianist, sound designer and executive of her own sound design company, responsible for creating iconic sounds and still performing today.
EP 02 - ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN THE 70'S
The program takes a look at the development of electronic music in the 1970s, highlighting the use of synthesizers in music production, as well as highlighting elements that characterized the sound aesthetics of this period, with tracks that exemplify these changes.
On the card, Donna Summer, singer, disco music diva and important figure in the aesthetic shift from the disco era to dance music.


EP 03 - ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN THE 80'S
The program revisits music's most beloved and most hated decade: the '80s! Through artists and compositions that established new sonic aesthetics, we showcase the emergence of diverse musical styles and the establishment of new references within the "electronic music" genre.

EP 04 - ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN THE 90'S
The program portrays electronic music in the 1990s, highlighting the emergence of new musical styles and aesthetics, through the presentation of a tracklist that features hip hop, dance music, breakbeat, among other sounds that emerged during this period.

EP 05 - ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN THE 80'S (part 2)
The Techtrônica program revisits the theme of electronic music in the 1980s, recalling the emergence of new musical styles, new aesthetics and references, ranging from experimentalism with electronic elements in Brazilian music to the emergence of breakbeat, a trend that serves as the rhythmic basis for various street dances.
On the card: Neneh Cherry, Swedish singer, presenter, DJ and music producer.
EP 06 - HOUSE MUSIC
The program features House Music, since its emergence in Chicago, in clubs in the Black, Latino and LGBTQIA+ communities.
The program displays a tracklist that explores different aspects and subgenres related to this musical style.
On the card: the dance floor at Paradise Garage, an underground club in Chicago and one of the birthplaces of House Music.

EP 07 - TECHNO MUSIC
The program traces the emergence of Techno in Detroit and brings the debate about the importance of this musical genre in electronic music and raver culture.
On the card: The Belleville Three, a group formed by Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May. Considered the pioneers of Detroit Techno.
EP 08 - HOUSE MUSIC II
House music expands and leaves the United States of America to conquer the world as the new sound on dance floors.
In this episode, Techtrônica brings a special selection of songs that characterize this style.

Techtrônica welcomes DJ and visual artist LILI T.
A transvestite from the city of Campina Grande and producer of parties and audiovisual exhibitions tells a little about her professional career and brings a special musical selection for the program.

EP 12 - TRAP
In this program, Techtrônica celebrates the beats of Trap, a musical style that uses rhymes and bass frequencies to convey expressive and stimulating messages. In addition to reviving the style's original musical references, today's Techtrônica also features names from both the national and local contexts who are Trap representatives.
On the card is Beatmaker Wondagurl, responsible for producing hits for Drake, Mariah Carey, Childish Gambino, Rihanna, among others.

Techtrônica welcomes Dandarona, DJ and multi-artist, to talk a little about her professional trajectory, about the challenges of working in the city's electronic music scene, in addition to bringing to the listeners of Frei Caneca - FM radio, a special musical selection.

EP 19 - CHILL OUT
Today's Techtrônica brings you one of the most relaxed styles of electronic music, Chillout, which takes as its reference sounds such as trip hop, ambient music, lounge, classical music, nu-jazz and downtempo.
On the card: a reinterpretation of the ChillOut atmosphere very common at electronic music festivals.
EP 20 - INTERVIEW WITH ANA LIRA
In this episode, Techtrônica interviews photographer, visual artist, curator and researcher Ana Lira, creator of the Chama project @chamanoar, whose objective is to investigate the various forms of expression across the diaspora, focusing on the encounter between poetry and music, that is, between sound systems, DJs and festivities produced around the field of the sensitive.

EP 22 - INTERVIEW WITH SCAPA
Techtrônica welcomes biarritzzz, Anti and Libra, three artists who together make up an initiative within the underground electronic music scene in Recife: Scapa, a collective dedicated to artistic and festive productions led by racialized minds.

EP 23 - FUNK CARIOCA
Techtrônica presents funk carioca as a style of electronic music that emerged in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro and quickly spread throughout Brazil, reviving its origins in dance parties and bringing it to more contemporary styles.
On the card is Deyse Tigrona, one of the oldest women to represent funk carioca and who continues to produce to this day.
